PDO has a robust decarbonisation roadmap
Feb 05, 2024 by Energy Connects
In our next exclusive studio interview, Julian Walker sat down with Steve Phimister, Managing Director at Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), to discuss how the company has formulated a robust decarbonisation roadmap in which they have committed to be net zero by 2050 and to half its emissions by 2030 using 2019 as its baseline.
Steve explained how PDO has already mapped out a pathway to hit net zero by 2025. For example, he highlighted one such objective to have 50% of all of PDO's power to come from renewables by 2030, which will see PDO invest heavily in solar and wind to hit that target. Steve also noted that PDO will continue to grow its production base but they will do that whilst halving emissions.
